The force working in concert with Guided Imagery on this site is Gestalt and the Aha moment.

The year is 1908. Pablo Picasso is restless, chasing an unknown longing. He steps away from the comforts of home and journeys to Africa. In a dim, musty room, he stumbles upon African masks. Suddenly, painting reveals itself to him as more than beauty. It is a kind of magic, a force that lets us break free.

Picasso broke free from the mental block of Western tradition and awakened his spirit by tuning in to the echoes of Africa’s ancestors. In embracing the unfamiliar, he uncovered new layers of himself.

From that moment on, he knew his path had revealed itself.

This journey swept Picasso into his so-called African period, a brief but electrifying chapter that ignited his fascination with African art, masks, and sculptures, fueling his imagination for years to come.

Aha

With Les Demoiselles d’Avignon Picasso shattered centuries of tradition and leaped past Renaissance naturalism, daring viewers to rethink the very boundaries of art.

“Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured” Hebrews 13.

Picasso rolled up the canvas and kept it hidden in his studio for years because its bold vision surprised even his closest friends. Still, this work became the basis for many of his later creations.
