The Making of a People

 Awesome Power

The Colorful Prince recognizes the “foolishness” of playing the Fool.

Still, continued engagement in repressive relationships and sterile environments that symbolize sexual inequality will lead to adaptation without genuine flourishing. Furthermore, individuals, particularly women, who have engaged in and enjoyed powerlessness may find it difficult to achieve inner reconciliation.

The Colorful Prince considers awe a blend of admiration, wonder, respect, and a hint of fear. It can feel exhilarating, unsettling, or both at once. For many, awe-filled memories lift our spirits and ease stress, depression, and anxiety. Most of all, awe sparks a powerful urge to share the moment with others.

Moreover, awe is a powerful evolutionary force that guides the choices females make. This awe-driven process, CFC, determines which males stand out and which traits help them thrive as mates. Some males become irresistible, hinting at intelligence or emotional depth, qualities that can captivate a partner.

It draws people together, weaving stronger social ties and inspiring us to reach out and help. Its ultimate purpose is still unknown, but awe can undeniably transform both individuals and entire communities.

Though its mysteries linger, our understanding of awe continues to grow, letting us sense that we belong to something far greater than ourselves. It can and often does confer psychological benefits, including increased  generosity, open-mindedness, and especially prosociality.
